Alliance to Advance Comprehensive Integrative Pain Management

The Alliance to Advance Comprehensive Integrative Pain Management (AACIPM) is the first-of-its-kind multi-stakeholder collaborative, comprised of people living with pain, public and private insurers, government agencies, patient and caregiver advocates, researchers, purchasers of healthcare, policy experts, and the spectrum of healthcare providers involved in the delivery of comprehensive integrative pain management.  AACIPM is an initiative, not an organization, and is built by the strength of engagement with its participating stakeholders.   The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine is proud to be working with other national organizations in integrative health including Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US)the Academic Consortium of Integrative Medicine & Health (ACIMH), the Academic Collaborative of Integrative Health (ACIH) and the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC) on this important initiative.

Integrative Health Policy Consortium

The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine is a “Partner in Health” of the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC) – a broad coalition of healthcare professionals, consumers, patients, educators, and business leaders working to give Americans full access to high-quality integrative healthcare. For patient-centered, prevention-oriented health care to flourish, many core public policies that govern today’s healthcare system must be fundamentally redesigned. Live Well San Diego

In June of 2018, the the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine’s board of directors voted to become a “Live Well San Diego Recognized Partner” alongside hundreds of other organizations. Live Well San Diego is a vision for a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safely and Thriving. It aligns the efforts of individuals, organizations and government to help all 3.3 million San Diego County residents live well. Live Well San Diego involves everyone. Only through a collective effort — in which all of us work together toward a shared purpose — can meaningful change be achieved in a region as large and diverse as San Diego County. Organizations can become Live Well San Diego Recognized Partners by making a formal commitment to support the Live Well San Diego vision. Recognized Partners include health care providers, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, school districts and other jurisdictions, including cities, tribal governments and military or veterans organizations.

Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health

Climate change is one of the most important issues of our time and has major health and healthcare implications.  As some of the most respected professionals in America, health professionals have a crucial part to play in raising awareness of the public about these issues.  To facilitate the medical community’s awareness raising efforts, the Medical Society Consortium on Climate Change and Health (the Consortium) brings together associations representing approximately 500,000 clinical practitioners.  As a member of the consortium, AIHM represents our members voices as advocated for climate change at the national level.  The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine represents the integrative health community and our members in this very important work.

National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic

The Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic is a one-of-a-kind public-private partnership that comprises government, communities, health systems, provider groups, payers, industry, nonprofits, academia, and more – all committed to sharing knowledge, aligning ongoing initiatives, and advancing collective, multi-sector solutions. We understand that the opioid epidemic is complex and multi-sectoral, and that it will take all of us to ensure that evidence-based solutions reach those who need them most. The mission of the Action Collaborative is to convene and catalyze public, private, and non-profit stakeholders to develop, curate, and disseminate multi-sector solutions designed to reduce opioid misuse, and improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities affected by the opioid crisis.  The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) has joined the Action Network alongside hundreds of organizations.  Read the AIHM commitment statement to Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic

Planetary Health Alliance

The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine is proud to be a member of this consortium of over 200 universities, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, and government entities from around the world committed to understanding and addressing global environmental change and its health impacts. To support the rapid growth of a robust, interdisciplinary field of planetary health, the PHA is focused on: building a global planetary health community that crosses sectors, disciplines, generations, and geographies; facilitating the training of the next generation of planetary health leaders through the development of mentorship opportunities and foundational open-access educational resources from primary to university levels; and mainstreaming planetary health science through broad public outreach and direct engagement with policymakers.

The California Call to Action on Climate, Health, and Equity: A Policy Action Agenda

The Stuttgart Declaration

Originally endorsed by the participants of the International Congress for Integrative Health & Medicine, June 9-11, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany.   In 2016, the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine partnered with the International Anthroposophic community and DAMID to put on the first international congress that invited key WHO and PAHO representatives to broaden the dialogue around integrative health globally.  One of the outcomes of this meeting was this international petition calls on governments and the World Health Organization and others to fully implement integrative health into national health systems.  We ask all the AIHM Community to Sign the Petition Today!
