Are you falling for the probiotics myth? | Kharrazian Institute

by matt | Jan 8, 2021 | AIHM Newsletter

Did you know probiotics are actually one of the most ineffective ways to heal an unhealthy gut? Here’s what you need to understand …

The key to successfully treating chronic GI disorders is much more complex than simply giving out L-glutamine or probiotics. You may have been led to believe that simply consuming good bacteria will protect and quickly heal the gut.

Learn more about Dr. Kharrazian’s Gastrointestinal Clinical Strategies and Treatment Applications course

Today, even TV commercials show how the big food companies have jumped on the probiotics bandwagon. They’ve added probiotics into orange juice, yogurt and other foods, and claim that’s all you need for optimal digestion. If only healing the gut was that simple!

You see, probiotics work in completely different ways for each patient. Each one of us has completely different microbiomes, which respond differently to various types of probiotic strains. That’s why some patients who take a probiotic might achieve phenomenal clinical results, another patient will experience bloating and distension, and other patients won’t notice a thing.

Here’s why…

For probiotics to be effective, you need to have the right host — your patients — combined with the right strain, which is what they consume.

Easier said than done!

Our microbiome is always evolving and changing. So, even a significant dietary change within 24 hours can completely change your patient’s microbiome. While at one point a probiotic may have worked, at another point that same probiotic will fail to provide results because our host microbiome is completely different. Ultimately, the most important thing is to diversify the gut.

Simply put, the more diverse the gut microbiome becomes, the healthier your patients will become.

This groundbreaking course is based on Dr. Kharrazian’s 20 years of experience working with patients, breakthrough scientific research, and time-tested clinical strategies that he’s used in his own practice with enormous success. He’ll be sharing all the different clinical perspectives and approaches to using nutraceuticals to really help patients suffering from chronic gastrointestinal complaints. By the end of his first-of-its-kind course, you’ll have a time-tested clinical model you can immediately use to help your current patients quickly return to optimal GI health, and also attract more patients to your practice.

There are two options for registration:

  • Limited 4-day pass for $395, which includes access to all videos and course materials. Registration for the 4-day pass gives you immediate access to the pre-course materials, and then starting on January 28, 2021, you’ll have access to On Demand videos, all course notes, audio downloads, and exams ending on Sunday, January 31 at 11:59 pm (Pacific time). If you require CE credits (when available) or would like the KI Certificate of Completion, you must watch all videos and pass all exams before your access ends on Sunday night. After the 4-day pass expires, you’ll receive an email option to upgrade to the 1-year access.
