A Statement on COVID-19 and Treatments on behalf of AIHM Board of Directors

At AIHM we believe in treating the whole person: body, mind, emotions and spirit. We honor the many Global Healing Traditions and believe that creating health requires a multi-disciplinary approach. We also believe in evidence-based health and medicine and have a vested interest in public health for all. We welcome the release of the COVID-19 vaccines as one opportunity to reduce mortality, suffering and the sometimes, long-term illness caused by COVID-19, and we will continue to monitor the science and CDC recommendations closely.

We plan to continue with COVID-19 continuing education to keep our community updated about the latest research and also integrative treatment strategies. We strongly recommend following the public health measures of facemask wearing, hand washing and social distancing. Our current public health crisis has highlighted health disparities and the need for a Holistic Integrative Health and Medicine approach to disease prevention and health creation.

In short, this is our work. At AIHM we support and direct our members and clinicians to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for up-to-date information, guidelines and recommendations. And we will continue to offer education in integrative approaches to COVID-19, including health disparities, integrative prevention and treatment, and the latest information on vaccines.

On Behalf of the AIHM Board of Directors
