1st Pan American Congress of Medicinal Plants and Integrative Health: Intersection with Traditional and Complementary Medicines

The I Pan-American Congress of Medicinal Plants and Integrative Health: Intersection with Traditional and Complementary Medicines is an initiative of the Brazilian Academic Consortium of Integrative Health (CABSIN) and co-organized by the following institutions: State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of Amazonas (SEDECTI-AM); Pan American Health Organization (PAHO); Latin American and Caribbean Center for Health Information (BIREME/PAHO); Brazilian Ministry of Health (MS); Network of Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicines of the Americas (TCIM Americas Network); Latin American Society of Phytomedicine (SLF); Applied Research Program for Popular Medicine in the Caribbean (TRAMIL); Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM); University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) and Innovation Agency of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Speakers at the event come from 25 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Costa Rica, Cuba, United States of America, Scotland, Spain, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Uruguay and Germany.
The congress will highlight the world’s largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon Basin, in the heart of the Americas.
The four themes that will be addressed on each day of the Congress are:
1. Conservation, sustainability and planetary health;
2. Research and technological innovation in medicinal plants in Pan America;
3. Medicinal plants in traditional, complementary and integrative medicine; 4;
4. Medicinal plants and public health.
