Dr. Richard J. Rojas, DC

Family Health Centers of San Diego

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of the Pacific, Richard pursued his education in complementary and alternative medicine. His interest was sparked after accompanying a family friend to a wellness clinic who suffered from chronic pain, and relied on medications without clarity of the root cause of discomfort.

Richard graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2007 and worked in private practice focusing on sports medicine and corporate wellness. He left private practice and accepted employment for a national medical group focusing on occupational health. This was a challenging position as he worked closely with a medical team that was unfamiliar with chiropractic. In a short time, he built trust with the providers incorporating chiropractic into the Physical Medicine department.

In 2016, Richard accepted a position at Family Health Centers of San Diego in the Physical Rehabilitation Services department. This company is committed to serving the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved in a multidisciplinary medical setting. Richard integrates allopathic and other complementary practitioners in conjunction with chiropractic focusing on patient care.

Being a student of the AIHM Interprofessional Fellowship program in Integrative Health and Medicine rejuvenated my thought process to deliver success for patients through reflective communication. I rarely care for myself and the program thus far has matured me as a provider to understand and treat myself, as I would treat all patients.
