Paul spent a few decades in the Basic Sciences at the University of Washington studying the molecular and cellular basis of complex physiological systems and processes. He then went onto teach Molecular and Cellular Biology full time at Western Washington University. Paul took on the role of Administrative Director of the Bastyr University Research Institute in 2015, where he oversees a diverse array of student, faculty and scientist research projects in Complementary and Integrative Health and Medicine.

Kieran’s experience in CCNM’s department of research and clinical epidemiology includes conducting whole-practice clinical trials on naturopathic care. Currently, he is investigating cannabis and integrative approaches for chronic pain, interprofessional collaboration and education, and naturopathic approaches to both irritable bowel syndrome and diabetes. He is Chair-Elect of the Canadian Interdisciplinary Network of Complementary and Alternative Medicine Researchers (INCAM) and Visiting Research Fellow at the Australian Research Centre for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, University of Technology, Sydney.
